Ben Boswell :: Pastor

Rev. Ben Boswell

Ben Boswell is a native of Kannapolis, NC, where his parents still reside. He earned a bachelor's degree from Campbell University in 2003 and a Master of Divinity degree from Duke Divinity School in 2006. From 2001 to 2003, while at Campbell, Ben served as 2nd Lieutenant and Platoon Leader of an Army National Guard Unit in Lumberton. As part of his Divinity School training, Ben served for a semester as a Chaplain at Duke University Hospital. During his years at Duke Divinity, Ben Boswell was Minister of Youth and Children at Samaria Baptist Church in Raleigh.


Soon after earning his MDiv, Ben answered a call to serve as Associate Pastor at Commonwealth Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. In 2008 Ben was named Senior Pastor of this congregation and served there until he accepted a call to pastor Greenwood Forest Baptist Church in 2011. While he was pastor at Commonwealth, Ben did post-graduate work at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC and served as the adjunct professor of political theology and ethics at the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, which is a Baptist seminary in Arlington, VA.


He is married to Toni. They have two children, Katelyn and Lucy Joy.
