A native of Greenville, SC, Amanda was ordained into the ministry in 1995.
She graduated from Davidson College (Davidson, NC) with a BA degree in 1992
and earned a MDiv from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (VA) in 1995.
She previously served as Associate Pastor with Walnut Hill Baptist Church in Petersburg, VA.
She is married to Douglas Brown and they have a son Samuel.
She also enjoys the company of a tortoiseshell cat named Kesch and a dog named Gladys.
In addition to her duties as Associate Pastor, Amanda leads our adult oriented Christian Education programs including Sunday School and Missions Education. She is very passionate about missions and is a leader in driving innovative hands-on missions programs in our church. In the spring of 2002, she was instrumental in leading a group from GFBC to Cuba and establishing a ministry partnership with Cuban Baptists in the Havana area.
