Make plans to attend worship on Transfiguration Sunday, February 26 at 11am! The Rev. Dr. Curtis Freeman will be our guest preacher. Dr. Freeman received his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and his PhD from Baylor University. He currently teaches historical theology at Duke Divinity School, and serves as the Director of the Baptist House of Studies. His scholarship focuses on Free Church theology. His books include Ties That Bind, Baptist Roots, A Company of Women Preachers: Baptist Prophetesses in Seventeenth-Century England, and Contesting Catholicity: Theology for Other Baptists. He is active in the Baptist World Alliance, serving on the Commission on Doctrine and Christian Unity. Dr. Freeman has strong ties to GFBC—he preached at one of 50th Anniversary events, and he has been a mentor for, and influence on, several GFBC ministers.
