On February 23th, we will package meals that will provide sustenance for needy people in poorly developed and natural disaster-devastated countries. This is our third year participating in this project with Cary Central Rotary Club. Each year, we hear praise from everyone who volunteered that they felt uplifted through their efforts.
Last year, we packaged approximately 36,000 meals. This year we hope to package at least 44,000! This project is financially underwritten through our annual Bazaar as well as our project partner, the Cary Central Rotary Club. The annual Bazaar raised over $10,000 this year.
This is a project with tasks for all ages and abilities and no prior experience is necessary. There are jobs such as: assembling bags of dried food, weighing the bags, sealing the bags, labeling bags, packing the completed meals into boxes, and more.
The first shift begins at 8:00am and ends at 10:30am. The second shift begins at 10:30am and ends at 1:00pm. Sign-up sheets were distributed to Sunday School classes on December 23rd and are posted on bulletin boards around campus. There is a task (seated or standing) for everyone, regardless of maturity!
Sign up now for one of two shifts for this fun event. Register on line, or use the signup sheets on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings in Sunday School.
