Advent Devotional Day 10-December 6

We live in a time when the world is full of violence and our daily lives can be marred by conflict and turmoil.  Remember God promises his people a peace that surpasses all understanding.  After reading the writings of Thomas A. Harris, I     selected one of his thoughts that may help promote a more peaceful world for all nations, races, religions, and lifestyles.

“The people of the world are not things to be manipulated, but persons to know; not heathen to be converted but persons to be heard; not enemies to be hated but persons to be encountered; not brothers to be kept but brothers to be brothers.  The problems of the world essentially are the problems of individuals.  If individuals change, then the course of the world can change.  This is a hope worth sustaining.”

When a man’s ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.   Proverbs 16:7
