Men's Mission Action Team - MMAT

MMAT is a missions organization for men with the goal to strengthen the commentment of Greenwood Forest Baptist Church men to live the Great Commission in their lives. We offer opportunities for mission activities, fellowship and spiritual growth.

Mission Activities

Disaster Relief/Recovery

Sponsors several trips a year on projects ranging from weekend trips within North Carolina to week long trips to out of state locations. We partner with NC Baptist Men to receive disaster relief and recovery training and have participated in two trips to Gulfport, MS to aid in the Katrina recovery. Weekend trips have included recovery efforts to Atlantic, NC. Day trips included rebuilding a house in Trenton after hurricane Floyd and a CBC of NC sponsored Mission Blitz in Henderson, NC

Carying Place

Maintains and repairs apartments the Carying Place uses to house homeless families as they participate a program to learn the skills and save the money needed to move into a permanent housing situation.

Agricultural Missions

Works with the NC Baptist Men's demonstration farm in Buies Creek. With the Challengers (6st - 12th grade boys) they built chicken coops. More Info

Spiritual Growth

MMAT seeks to provide opportunities for spiritual growth through serving others, devotions, conferences and Bible study.
