Community Meals

Eating together is a vital part of the church’s spiritual life and we at GFBC are committed to sharing our lives together around the table as frequently as possible. Along with many other special events, our Fellowship Ministry coordinates regular opportunities for us to enjoy food and friendship together:

Second Wednesday Community Meals

On the second Wednesday of the month (September through May), the church gathers for a meal before we participate in rotating programming for all age groups. See the Faith Formation page for more information.

Extended Table

At least twice a year, we meet after church on a Communion Sunday for a potluck lunch. We conceive of this time as a way to extend the communion we began in worship into a proper meal, mirroring the way the early church celebrated Communion.

The Christmas Breakfast

Every year on the 4th Sunday of Advent, before our Service of Lessons and Carols, we enjoy a Christmas Breakfast together. We bring our favorite breakfast sweets and celebrate together as we near the holy season of Christmas.

Picnic on the Lawn

We like to kick off the programming year in September by having a picnic on the lawn together. Bring your food and a blanket and/or chairs and enjoy the weather, the grounds, and the company.
