Welcome
GFBC is a worshiping community of faith seeking leadership from the Spirit of Christ on an inward and outward journey of faith fulfilling the Great Commission through education, fellowship, missions, and outreach. We invite you to join us in a comprehensive set of programs geared to enrich our worship and community of faith.
Katie Morgan - Minister to Children
Katie Morgan will begin her duties as Children's Minister on September 1. A 2010 graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan University with majors in international missions and children's ministry, Katie served as Part-Time Children's Ministry Director at the First Baptist Church in Etowah, Tennessee from August 2007 to July 2010. In that role, she planned and coordinated Children's worship, Sunday and Wednesday night programs, special events, outreach programs, and Sunday School. She trained and managed 30-45 volunteers involved with the Children's Ministry and directed Vacation Bible School. She also publicized Children's ministry events within the church and in the community and oversaw fundraising events for the Children's Ministry. Katie is blessed with enthusiasm for ministry and strong organizational skill and leadership ability. We looked forward to partnering with her in ministering to our children and their families.

Mission Spotlight
- Grow and Share update
On Tuesday, July 27 Jean Lamb, Susan Yeargan and I visited Grow and Share in Zebulon, N.C. We delivered the gardening collectibles and monetary donations from HOPE’s recent project to Kay and Frank Whatley. We also saw their greenhouse and listened to future plans for Grow and Share. Frank was especially pleased to receive all of the disposable gallon-size gardening pots. We took them a check in the amount of $641.67. Thank you to all who contributed items and money.
